SPARTA, Ky. – Jeffrey Earnhardt rolled home with a 16th-place finish in Saturday night’s VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 at Kentucky Speedway.

The finish is Earnhardt’s second best of the Nationwide season. He was the first driver one lap down to the lead group and ran in 16th or 17th the last half of the race.

“It was a good run for us,” said Earnhardt, who drove the Bandit Industries/GCL Construction/Polyglass Chevrolet for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller. “We shoot for the top 15 and missed it by a spot, but the car was solid and we had a good night.”

Earnhardt stayed in 18th in Nationwide points.

Brendan Gaughan won the race, his second victory of the season. Chase Elliott kept the point lead.

The series moves on to Dover, Del. for a Sept. 27 race.
