ADVANCE NOTES

·        Biffle at Martinsville

o   Biffle has 23 Sprint Cup Series starts at Martinsville.  In those starts he has earned five top-10 finishes.

·         The Car

o   Chassis RK-856 is the same car Biffle led laps with in the spring race and is also the same car he finished in the top 10 last fall at Martinsville.

·        First Martinsville Race Summary

o   Greg Biffle was a strong contender in the first half of the STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Biffle led a total of 18 laps and was a regular inside the top 10.  As the laps dwindled down, the No. 16 3M Ford continued to get tighter which cost valuable track position on restarts as Biffle was stuck in the outside lane.  The tight handling condition, coupled with tire wear, culminated in an 18th-place finish.

·        One Year Ago at Martinsville

o   In the fall race at Martinsville, Biffle had a fast car, but a loose bumper cover.  Biffle was black flagged for the barely hanging on piece of sheet metal, but after it was removed he worked his way up to a top-10 finish.

·        Think Pink

o   The No. 16 3M Ford has a special pink paint scheme this weekend in Martinsville as part of Roush Fenway Racing’s program to support the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) in an effort to raise awareness for early detection.

Biffle on Martinsville:

“Martinsville hasn’t always been one of my strongest tracks, but we’ve definitely gotten much better there.  I’ve had some solid runs in a row there and I know we can continue that.  Hopefully we can qualify well for track position and get another solid finish at Martinsville, maybe even take home a grandfather clock.”

Puccia on Martinsville:

“Martinsville has been a decent track for us over the last couple of years.  It’s a unique track from any other track we go to on the circuit.  We had a good run going in the spring and look to follow that up with another strong run in our pink No. 16 3M Ford this weekend.”
