FORD RACING DID YOU KNOW? … TEXAS 2 EDITION

DID YOU KNOW? … Joey Logano won this season’s first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway and can become the third driver to sweep both events since the track began hosting two races a year in 2005.  Carl Edwards was the first to do it in 2008 while Denny Hamlin was the second in 2010.

DID YOU KNOW? … Ford drivers Brad Keselowski and Trevor Bayne made their NASCAR Sprint Cup Series debuts at Texas Motor Speedway.  Keselowski made his first start with car owner Rick Hendrick in the No. 25 Chevrolet at Texas on Nov. 2, 2008 and finished 19th while Bayne got behind the wheel of the famous No. 21 Wood Brothers Ford on Nov. 7, 2010 and finished 17th.

DID YOU KNOW? … Ford has more NASCAR Sprint Cup Series wins at Texas Motor Speedway than any other manufacturer with 12 in 27 races.

DID YOU KNOW? … Jeff Burton won the inaugural NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway on April 6, 1997.  The victory was also the first of Burton’s career, who went on to win three races that season and finish fourth in points.  NOTE: Burton became the first driver to win twice at TMS after 12 different drivers reached victory lane from 1997-2006.

DID YOU KNOW? … Carl Edwards is tied for the most NASCAR Sprint Cup Series wins at Texas Motor Speedway with three (Jimmie Johnson).  Edwards swept both events in 2008 after posting his first win at the track in the fall of 2005.
