Feed the Children Joins TBR, Sorenson for NASCAR Finale

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (November 12, 2014) – Feed the Children, one of the world’s leading anti-hunger organizations, has joined forces with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race team Tommy Baldwin Racing (TBR) for the 2014 season finale this weekend at Homestead Miami Speedway.

Feed the Children will adorn the No. 36 Chevrolet SS driven by Reed Sorenson.

“The Feed the Children program is near and dear to my heart,” said Tommy Baldwin, owner of TBR. “They’ve done great things for individuals all over the world, including my hometown of Long Island. We’re proud to bring them with us to Homestead and raise awareness for such a fantastic cause.”

“Feed the Children is proud to partner with Tommy and his team. Their support has been invaluable,” said Kevin Hagan, President and CEO of Feed the Children. “Every day, hunger robs children of the chance to be kids. Through the support of organizations like TBR, we are not only able to bring food to kids across the world, but also give them the opportunity to just be kids.”

Hirzel Canning Company & Farms, a valued partner of Feed the Children, will be featured on the quarter panels of the Chevrolet SS racecar.

Sorenson has competed in five Cup Series races at Homestead, with a best finish of 16th coming in 2006. He also competed five times at the 1.5-mile oval in NASCAR Nationwide Series competition, earning a best finish of fourth in 2004.

The race airs live Sunday, Nov. 16 at 3:15 p.m. Eastern on ESPN.

REED SORENSON QUOTE:

“It’s important for us have a good showing on Sunday to end the 2014 season on a high note. Our intermediate program has been getting better and better each race. We had a comfortable car at Chicagoland and Kansas, so hopefully the trend will continue and we can give Feed the Children a great run.”
