TMS Seeking Members for 2015 Fan Council

FORT WORTH, Texas (Jan. 12, 2015) – For a fourth consecutive year, Texas Motor Speedway is seeking fans to become part of the Texas Motor Speedway Fan Council which provides insightful feedback in an effort to enhance the raceday experience for all speedway’s guests.

Beginning today and continuing through Feb. 6, fans can submit their application by visiting www.texasmotorspeedway.com to be considered for a seat on the Texas Motor Speedway Fan Council. The group will consist of 20 to 30 fans that will maintain an active role in providing constructive feedback to speedway management throughout the upcoming season. The council will possess a diverse makeup, consisting of PSL holders, individual ticket purchasers, suite holders, campers and new race fans.

The Texas Motor Speedway Fan Council will host an on-site meeting during each of the speedway’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race weekends in April and November and a one-hour teleconference following the Firestone 600 Verizon IndyCar Series/NASCAR Camping World Truck Series doubleheader in June. Members also will be requested to complete five e-mail questionnaires over the course of the term to prepare Texas Motor Speedway management for meetings and recaps following race weekends.

Texas Motor Speedway instituted the Fan Council in 2012 to serve as a unified voice for the fans and provide feedback and recommendations on a variety of speedway-related topics. The feedback from the inaugural year spearheaded the “Fan-Fueled Evolution” in 2013 when Texas Motor Speedway introduced a dozen impactful changes. These included a rainout policy for fans that are unable to attend a postponed race. That policy was implemented following the postponement of the Duck Commander 500 last April. Other policies have included the establishment of a new children’s ticket pricing program to unique race-related perks for season ticket holders.

“Continuing to elevate the fan experience at Texas Motor Speedway is our top priority,” Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage said. “Over the past three seasons, the Fan Council has allowed us to connect with fans directly and more efficiently improve their race experience. We are proud to continue using this feedback to better serve our fans.”

In addition to applying online at www.texasmotorspeedway.com, fans also can go to the site and print and mail an application to Texas Motor Speedway, Attn: Fan Council, P.O. Box 500, Fort Worth, TX 76101. Applications should be mailed no later than Feb. 2 to ensure arrival by the Feb. 6 deadline.

Selections will be made Feb. 16 and members will be notified no later than Feb. 20. Once the term expires, new members will be chosen for the 2016 season.
