CHASTAIN HAS BRISTOL SUCCESS

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Ross Chastain knows what it’s like to be on the edge of victory at Bristol Motor Speedway.

In 2012, Chastain finished third in a Camping World Truck Series race at one of motorsports’ toughest short tracks.He is scheduled to make his Xfinity Series debut at BMS in Saturday’s Drive To Stop Diabetes 300. He’ll be in the No. 4 Chevrolet fielded by JD Motorsports with Gary Keller.

“We had a really good truck that night and hung in there right until the end,” Chastain said. “It was a lot of fun, and I learned a lot about the track. I’m hoping some of that can transfer over to the Xfinity race.”

Chastain has had a fine start to his rookie season. He’s 12th in driver points six races into the schedule.Practice for the 300 is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. (ET) Friday. Qualifying will be held at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, with the race to follow at 1:30.
