ADVANCE NOTES

Wallace at Richmond International Raceway

Friday night’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Richmond International Raceway marks Bubba Wallace’s second start at the .75-mile track.  His previous start came in the fall of 2012, where Wallace started 20th and finished 10th.

In 2011, Wallace earned a victory at Richmond International Raceway in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, after qualifying second and leading 45 of 100 laps.

Through the first seven races of the season, Wallace has not finished lower than 15th.  The Rookie of the Year contender holds an average running position inside the top-10, in addition to completing over 90 percent of the laps completed on the lead lap and in the top-15 thus far this season.  Wallace ranks second only to his Roush Fenway Racing teammate Chris Buescher in the number of quality passes this season, with 378.

On the Car

The No. 6 Mustang carries the Bleacher Report colors this weekend in Richmond.

Bleacher Report, a division of Turner Sports, is the leading digital destination for team-specific sports content and real-time event coverage, and is one of the fastest-growing digital properties in the U.S.  Bleacher Report’s editorial and video teams, led by a growing roster of lead writers and premier contributors, create hundreds of pieces of content per day to provide fans with the most comprehensive experience for their favorite teams and topics across all major sports.

Recapping Bristol

In his first NASCAR XFINITY Series start at Bristol Motor Speedway, Wallace ran in the top-10 for the majority of the Drive to Stop Diabetes 300, but lost two positions in the final 13-lap shootout, causing the rookie contender to take the checkered flag in the 12th position in his No. 6 Ford EcoBoost Mustang.

QUOTE WORTHY

Bubba Wallace on racing at Richmond International Raceway:

“I am excited to get to Richmond; I’ve had some success there.  We won the K&N race in 2011 and have an XFINITY race there under our belt from 2012.  It will be good to get back on another short track.  I’m proud to carry the colors of Bleacher Report on our Ford Mustang this weekend.”
