ADVANCE NOTES

Wallace at Talladega Superspeedway

Saturday’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Talladega Superspeedway marks Bubba Wallace’s second NASCAR XFINITY Series start at the track.  Last season, Wallace qualified third before being collected in an accident and finishing 31st.

Wallace has two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts at Talladega Superspeedway with a best start of 10th (2013) and a best finish of ninth (2014).

Through the first eight races of the season, Wallace has not finished lower than 15th.  He ranks second only to his Roush Fenway Racing teammate Chris Buescher in the number of quality passes this season, with 405.

On the Car

Wallace’s No. 6 Mustang carries the SpongeBob SquarePants colors this weekend in Talladega.

The No. 6 SpongeBob SquarePants Ford Mustang features several characters from the long-running animated series, which began in 1999.

Nickelodeon and SpongeBob SquarePants will serve as the entitlement sponsor for next week’s NASCAR Sprint Series race at Kansas Speedway.

Recapping Richmond

Wallace and the No. 6 Bleacher Report team battled a tight Ford Mustang in last Friday night’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Richmond International Raceway, ultimately finishing 12th.

QUOTE WORTHY

Bubba Wallace on racing at Talladega Superspeedway:

“I feel good about our superspeedway program.  We showed a lot of speed in the season opener at Daytona.  I’m excited to get back to Talladega with the same attitude, just a different look.  It’s really cool to have SpongeBob SquarePants on our Ford Mustang.”
