WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR MICHIGAN INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY

Jamie McMurray and No. 1 McDonald’s Team

Pocono Recap: The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) headed to Eastern Pennsylvania for the Axalta “We Paint Winners” 400 at Pocono Raceway. Jamie McMurray, driving the No. 1 Cessna Patriotic Chevrolet SS, managed a car that transitioned from extremely loose to tight conditions, before finding the right balance and racing to his second consecutive seventh-place finish.

Michigan Stats: Jamie McMurray has made 24 starts at Michigan International Speedway (MIS) where he has completed 4,588 of 4,739 (96.8%) laps of competition. He has four top-10 and one top-five finishes with an average start of 23.8 and average finish of 19.2 McMurray has led a total of 40 laps in NSCS competition. His best start of second came in June 2010 and his best finish of fourth in Aug. 2004.

Golden Arches: The No. 1 Chevrolet SS will carry the McDonald’s colors this weekend at MIS. Before Jamie McMurray hits the track for 400 miles of racing on Sunday, fans can fill-up at one of several area McDonald’s locations on the way to MIS. There are several locations including the closest location less than three miles away at 306 S Main St Brooklyn, MI 49230-9307 (517)592-6134.

Kyle Larson and No. 42 Target Team

Pocono Recap: Pocono Raceway (Pocono) played host to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) this weekend for the first of two races this season at the Tricky Triangle. Coming off a strong race at Dover International Speedway last week, the Target team again looked to have a solid car for Sunday’s race. Larson started the race from the 15th position and worked through some handling issues to score an eighth-place finish, his fifth top-10 of the season.

Larson at Michigan: Larson will be making his third NSCS start at MIS this weekend. In two previous races Larson has an 8th and 43rd place finish. Larson had strong cars at both races last season, but during the second race an incident on pit road early in the race resulted in some front-end damage and a blown right front tire near the halfway mark brought an early end to the day for the Target team.

Double Duty: After a brief break, Larson will be back behind the wheel in the NASCAR XFINITY Series this weekend. Larson will be piloting the No. 42 ParkerStore Chevrolet Camaro. Larson’s sponsor for this weekend first teamed up with the driver when he was 11, and was his first-ever corporate sponsor.

A Shopping Bullseye: If you have made it to the race only to find out you’ve forgotten to pack a few necessities, there’s no need to worry. For all your last minute needs, and forgotten items, Target has all of the essentials and more. Target is located at 1076 Jackson Crossing in Jackson, Mich. 49202, and can be reached at (517) 788-3900. Call ahead and make sure they have what you need.
