CHASTAIN 18th AT CHICAGOLAND

JOLIET, Ill. – Ross Chastain racked up his sixth top-20 finish of the Xfinity Series season Sunday, scoring an 18th-place run in the Owens Corning AttiCat 300 at Chicagoland Speedway.

Chastain replaced regular driver Landon Cassill, who took the weekend off, in the Gerber Collision & Glass Chevrolet and turned in a strong performance, finishing on the lead lap. He qualified 25th.

The race was delayed one day by rain.
“Once we finally got out there, we had a good day,” Chastain said. “It was a little different being in the 01, but the race was a good one. We ran up with the front group and brought it home strong.”The finish kept Chastain in 15th place in Xfinity driver points.

Erik Jones won the race, and Chris Buescher finished fifth, keeping the point lead.

The series races next at Daytona International Speedway July 4.
