Pressure is On for Almirola and No. 43 Armour Team to Make the Chase

Pressure is On for Almirola and No. 43 Armour Team to Make the Chase
Armour will Make Their Debut as a Primary Partner this weekend at Michigan

As the regular season comes to a close with just four races left before the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, the pressure is on to make the 16-team Chase field. Aric Almirola is currently 16th in the Championship Points Standings and just outside a Chase transfer spot. He is 50 points behind Clint Bowyer who holds the final transfer spot based on points. Almirola and team will continue to get the most out of their cars for the next four weeks and give their best shot at a win, starting this weekend at Michigan International Speedway in the No. 43 Armour Ford.

Almirola has seven Sprint Cup Series starts at Michigan. He has two Top-Five starts at the track and scored his best finish of 17th in both 2012 and 2013. He has five starts in the XFINITY and Truck Series, including a win in the Truck Series in 2010. The No. 43 team has shown success at the intermediate tracks this year, scoring four Top-15 and six Top-20 finishes, including three 11th-place finishes, in the eight intermediate track races. They have an average finish of 16.1 at the intermediate tracks.

One lucky person will win the trip of a lifetime, courtesy of Armour®, the makers of LunchMakers children’s portable meals, savory frozen meatballs and sliced pepperoni. One grand prize winner and three guests will receive a trip to Miami just in time for the crowning of the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion. Fans can enter the Armour sweepstakes by visiting www.armourmeats.com. Pressure is on as @Aric_Almirola and #43 @ArmourMeats team compete for #Chase spot at @MISpeedway. #NASCAR

The pressure is on for @Aric Almirola and the No. 43 @Armour Meats Ford as they compete for a Chase spot this weekend at @Michigan International Speedway.
“We’re just on the outside looking in on a Chase spot. Fifty points is a lot to make up in four races, but you never know what can happen. We’ll continue making the best out of our races and see where the points fall. And, we’ll work our guts out to try and score a win to lock a spot in the Chase. Our intermediate program has been pretty consistent. We have a different package this weekend compared to the June race, so I’ll be interested in seeing how the race goes. It’s the same package we ran in Indy, so hopefully, we will be able to run up front.

“This is the first primary race for Armour, so that’s pretty cool to have them on the hood of the 43 this weekend. They have a great sweepstakes they launched in July for the grand prize winner and three guests to come to Miami to watch the race. It’s great when our partners give back to the fans, and this is a great opportunity for one lucky winner to go to one of the biggest events of the year.”
