DARLINGTON WELCOMES CHASTAIN

DARLINGTON, S.C. – Ross Chastain has read about, heard about and dreamed about Darlington Raceway. Now he gets to drive it.

The Xfinity Series rookie is scheduled to race at NASCAR’s oldest superspeedway for the first time in Saturday’s VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 200 race.

“So many stories about Darlington, and I’m sure most of them are true,” Chastain said. “I can wait to get there and get on the track and see for myself what it’s like. Obviously, the speeds are high and passing is tough. But I’m ready to give it a shot.”

Chastain is having an excellent rookie season. He’ll challenge Darlington Saturday in the South Carolina Education Lottery No. 4 Chevrolet fielded by JD Motorsports with Gary Keller.

Chastain, who has had four top-20 finishes in the past five races, is 14th in Xfinity driver points.

Practice is scheduled at Darlington at 1 and 3 p.m. (ET) Friday. The race will get the green flag at 3:30 p.m. Saturday after qualifying at 11:45 a.m.
