The Nashville, Tenn., native is in his second full-time season competing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and will also drive the No. 15 “Call 811 Before You Dig” Chevrolet Silverado for Billy Boat Motorsports in Friday’s truck race at Chicagoland.

“This was an arrangement that came together very quickly, but I’m really excited about making my XFINITY Series debut,” Mingus said. “I drove for (Obaika Racing general manager) Kevin Cywinski at Win-Tron Racing last year and enjoyed working with him, so I jumped at the opportunity when he called.”

Obaika Racing is in its first season competing in the NASCAR XFINITY Series. Based in Mooresville, N.C., and led by crew chief John Monsam, the team has fielded multiple drivers in its No. 97 entry in 2015.

Saturday’s NASCAR XFINITY Series event, the Furious 7 300, will air on the NBC Sports Network with coverage beginning at 6 p.m. ET. Friday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, the American Ethanol E15 225, will air on FOX Sports 1 beginning at 8:30 p.m. ET.
