Clint Bowyer, No.15 5-hour ENERGY Toyota Charlotte Preview

SPECIAL REASON TO WIN

CORNELIUS, N. C. – The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series travels to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the last Saturday night race of the 2015 season. It’s a race that everyone wants to win with Charlotte serving as the home for nearly all of NASCAR’s race teams.

The No. 15 5-hour ENERGY Toyota driver Clint Bowyer would like nothing more than to bring home a trophy to everyone at the shop.

The Michael Waltrip Racing driver has won at the 1.5-mile oval including a victory during the 2012 Chase. He has also won the last two Sprint Showdowns to advance to the Sprint All-Star race in May.

But Bowyer has a little extra incentive to make it to victory lane this weekend. The Kansas native will replace his name above the passenger side door with a very special name. Tiffany Dale is currently battling breast cancer. Bowyer and the 5-hour ENERGY family will show their support for the fifth-grade math teacher and mother of two from Nashville, Tenn., with the inclusion of her name on the car this weekend.

And while every win is special, it’s safe to say a victory this weekend would be extra special for everyone associated with the No. 15 5-hour ENERGY Toyota..

Is Charlotte one of those races every driver wants to win?

Well everyone wants to win at Charlotte and we’ve been lucky enough to do it. With all the race shops close by it’s kind of like a home game for everyone. All the families come out. It’s fun for the crew members. You’ll typically see a lot of kids at the track, checking out what mom or dad does each weekend. It’s kind of cool. But there’s a lot on the line this weekend too. We weren’t able to make it to the next round of the Chase but that doesn’t mean we aren’t plugging away, trying to get that win for everyone at MWR. The guys are still working hard and we are going do our best get a win for everyone before the season’s done.

You have a special name on the passenger side door this weekend.

I’m happy we can do it. You take for granted how much little things can make a big difference. I know Tiffany is battling cancer right now and if we can do something like put her name above my door and that brings a smile to her face, then why wouldn’t you? Just hope we can make that smile even bigger by getting the 5-hour ENERGY Toyota in victory lane for her.
