Bayne at Talladega

Bayne makes his 10th career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start at Talladega Superspeedway this weekend.

In nine previous starts at the 2.66-Mile oval, Bayne has recorded one top-10, an eighth-place finish in the spring 2012 event.

According to NASCAR’s loop data statistics, Bayne ranks fourth in green flag speed (193.537 mph) and fifth in average speed early in a run (193.766 mph).

In four starts at Talladega in the XFINITY Series, Bayne has recorded two top-10 finishes. Bayne earned his best finish of sixth in the spring 2011 event at the Alabama track.

Bob Osborne at Talladega

Osborne will be atop the pit box for his 18th NSCS event at Talladega on Sunday.  In 17 previous races at the famed superspeedway, Osborne has recorded two top-five finishes and four top-10s. His best finish is fifth, once with former Roush Fenway Racing driver Carl Edwards in the fall of 2005 and once with former Roush Fenway driver Jamie McMurray in the spring of 2006.

Bayne took the green flag from the 19th position on Sunday afternoon and ran inside the top 20 for much of the 267-Lap event before taking the checkered flag in the 18th position.
