Rick Hendrick Transcript – 2016 NMPA Hall of Fame Inductee

“Hello everyone. I’m sorry I can’t be there with you tonight. To be recognized by the National Motorsports Press Association is a real honor. I have so much respect for the people who cover our sport and keep our fans informed. It takes an incredible amount of commitment and sacrifice. Not only that, but the NMPA does so much to give back to the NASCAR community.

“And to be inducted with two of my heroes, that makes it even more special. Congratulations Joe Gibbs and Al Unser.

“Now I have just one request. First it was Steve Letarte going to NBC, now it’s Jeff Gordon going to FOX. How about taking the next one from Coach Gibbs? I think it’s his turn.

“But seriously, I’m extremely grateful for this honor. Thank you to the NMPA and its members.

“I know I’m the luckiest guy in the world because I get to do the two things I love most outside of my family, and that’s racing cars and selling cars. Without a doubt the key to success in both businesses is people and I’ve been fortunate to work with some of the very best at Hendrick Motorsports.
