Friday, April 29, 2016

Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney were the fastest cars in the final practice Friday at Talladega Superspeedway. The duo spoke about what they learned out on the track today after the session concluded.

JOEY LOGANO, No. 22 Shell Pennzoil Ford Fusion – WHAT DID YOU LEARN OUT THERE TODAY? “Not a whole bunch. We just worked on a couple different changes that we made and found a little bit. Nothing huge. It is hard to find a lot here but I feel like we made the car a little better, so that is promising for Sunday.”

WE SAW YOU WORKING WITH THE 21 A LOT. WHAT WAS THE GOAL THERE? “Yeah, we were just trying to get him to go a little faster.”

HOW IS THE RACE CAR? “I am mainly happy. Our Shell Pennzoil Ford has good speed in it. I feel like we are better than where we were in Daytona, which is great. I have something I can definitely race with. We went out in a couple of packs a few different times and were able to drive to the lead so it feels like everything is firing. The car is handling good and the spotter and driver are working well together so I am excited for what we have for Sunday with our Ford. One step at a time. We made a couple runs and now we are done. My guys are unbolting this thing and we will fire off Sunday and see what we’ve got.”

RYAN BLANEY, No. 21 Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Fusion – WHAT WAS THE GOAL FOR YOU GUYS THAT PRACTICE? “With the way the weather is looking for tomorrow we wanted to make sure we put a decent lap down. I mostly worked with the 22. I think the 24 was with us and a handful of others but we were kind of playing it safe. Our car is good. We have good speed. It is always like that as these race tracks. They do a really good job. We will see if we qualify tomorrow and go racing Sunday.”

HOW IS YOUR RACE CAR IF YOU HAD TO GO RACE RIGHT NOW, YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT IT? “Yeah, I feel really good about our Fusion. I feel like we are really racey and we an make some really good moves out there. That is really all you can ask for.
