WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. – Ross Chastain turned in his third top-15 run of the Xfinity Series season Saturday, finishing 14th in the Zippo 200 at the Watkins Glen International road course.

Racing at the Glen for only the second time, Chastain led two laps (leading for the fourth time this season) and stayed near the front all afternoon in recording his second-best finish of the season.

“It was a great afternoon for us,” Chastain said. “Road racing is a different kind of game, but we came here with a really good car and got off to a good start. From there, it was a matter of staying smart and moving forward when we could.”

The finish boosted Chastain, who drove with sponsorship from Taughannock Aviation and the Ithaca-Tompkins Airport, to 13th in Xfinity driver points.

Joey Logano led 67 of the 82 laps and won the race. Elliott Sadler kept the point lead.

The series rolls on to Mid-Ohio for an Aug. 13 race, the second of three road-course events.
