ADVANCE NOTES

Reed at Chicagoland

Reed has competed at Chicagoland Speedway four times in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS).  In those four starts, Reed’s best finish came in this race last season, an 11th-place effort, after starting 10th.  The driver of the No. 16 Lilly Diabetes/American Diabetes Association Ford Mustang has three top-15 finishes at the 1.5-mile track.

Riding with Ryan

Drive to Stop DiabetesSM representative Cristie Field will ‘ride’ along with Reed during Saturday’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Chicagoland Speedway.  Field will have her name featured on a decal above the passenger-side window on the No. 16 Ford Mustang as part of the joint campaign to spread awareness and education about diabetes.

Like Reed, Field lives with diabetes and knows the importance of staying healthy to manage her diabetes.  Field’s favorite ways to stay healthy include participating in the American Diabetes Association® Tour De Cure®, for which she has been a team captain the last three years.  In addition, Field has focused her efforts on spreading awareness for the Red Riders on the Tour De Cure planning committee. Red Riders are other people living with diabetes who participate in this signature fundraising cycle event.

Richmond Recap

Reed and the No. 16 Lilly Diabetes/American Diabetes Association team finished 11th last Friday night at Richmond International Raceway, securing a spot in the Chase for the 2016 NASCAR XFINITY Series Championship.

2016 Season

Reed is scored 10th in the NASCAR XFINITY Series Championship standings after 25 races. He has recorded one top-five and four top-10 finishes, led eight laps for the season and has recorded an average finish of 16.

Reed on Chicagoland

“Last week we locked ourselves into the Chase, which is awesome.  It really puts us in position this weekend to go out and try and contend for a win.  I’m excited to get to Chicagoland, we’ve had good runs there in the past and I think we can continue that this weekend in our Lilly Diabetes/American Diabetes Association Ford.”

Reed will visit the Bolingbrook XFINITY Store on Thursday, September 15th at 6 p.m. CT to sign autographs.

Reed will also take part in the Chicagoland Speedway autograph session at Champion’s Park on Saturday, September 17th at 9:30 a.m. CT.
