JOEY LOGANO, No. 22 Discount Tire Ford Mustang – FINISHED 4th
“That was a lot of fun there at the end with Larson. It was an up and down day for our Mustang. I led a lap. I passed the 18 car for a second which is amazing. It felt good for a lap until he passed me back. I don’t know. We had a lot of ups and downs and we got to where we put tires on and went back to 12th, then got up to 6th, then back to 12th and ended up 4th. I would say we maximized our day with the car we had. I am proud of that part but we still are searching for a little bit of speed. We need to get a little faster.”

RYAN REED, No. 16 Lilly Diabetes/ADA Ford Mustang – Finished 16th
“That plug wire really put us behind from the start. I think we had about a 13th place car before everyone had troubles. With everyone having problems if we could have just been running where we needed to it would have been an easy top-10 day. It is frustrating to have a mechanical issue in the Chase. We definitely can’t have that happen but we battled back and to finish 16th after being three laps down at one point isn’t the end of the world. I think we have an opportunity being a few points back to make something happen. Overall, we just didn’t unload that well this weekend. Aside from all the troubles we just have to get better to have an opportunity to move on.”

EVEN WITH THE TROUBLE YOU FINISHED AHEAD OF TWO OTHER CHASE DRIVERS. “Yeah, that is a silver lining. That is definitely going to help things. We needed them to have the days they were having and we were talking about that on the radio. We got stuck two laps down and no matter what pretty much knew we would be two laps down. We had to be smart and stay out of trouble. We were on our own lap the rest of the race. If we were up there battling we might have gotten caught up in a mess like they did but I would rather be up there fighting it out any day.”

DARRELL WALLACE JR., No. 6 Leidos Ford Mustang – (Involved in accident on lap 164)
“I guess it is just precautionary measures and I have to go take a ride to the care center. That is why I drove it back, to save that ride. They are just doing their job to make sure I am okay and keep it safe. Thanks to the safety workers for showing up. I am alright. It was just a hard hit. It was a really hard hit for us, the whole team really. This 6 Leidos Ford team was working hard to get a good finish. I think we could have picked off a couple spots for a top-10 to set us up for a really good day. It is just unfortunate. I hate it for our guys. We worked really hard overnight to get this thing where it needed to be. We were still off in some areas but it was good to start figuring out a rhythm and knowing some key points going into Texas in a couple weeks. We will move on. It is alright. We aren’t knocked out. It is just motivation to go to Texas.”

WHERE DO YOU FIND THAT MOTIVATION? “Hell, we have all wrecked plenty of times in our careers, so we know how to use it as fuel. This is just a little dent. Nothing to be worried about. We just have to do our job in Texas and Phoenix and make us as much time as we can.”
