ADVANCE NOTES

Bayne at Phoenix

Bayne will make his fifth career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start at Phoenix International Raceway this weekend.

Bayne previously raced at Phoenix in the NASCAR XFINITY Series, making 10 starts and recording one top-five finish, six top-10 finishes and has an average finish of 13.1. Bayne finished in the top 10 in six consecutive races at Phoenix from Nov. 2011 to Nov. 2014.

Bayne’s top-five effort came in the March 2, 2013 event after starting and finishing in the fourth position.

Recapping Texas

Bayne took the green flag from 26th and battled a loose-handling AdvoCare Ford for much of the rain-marred NSCS event at Texas Motor Speedway. He was ultimately scored with a 30th-place finish after rain forced NASCAR to call the race official shy of the scheduled distance.

Matt Puccia at Phoenix

Puccia will call his 11th NSCS race at Phoenix on Sunday. Puccia’s best finish is third with Roush Fenway teammate Greg Biffle in the 2012 event at the Arizona track.

QUOTE WORTHY

Bayne on racing at Phoenix:

“Phoenix is definitely a challenging track. It’s always raced more like a short-track than it does a one-mile track. I’m looking forward to seeing what we will have there this weekend with our AdvoCare Ford as we hope to really end this season on a strong note and see what we can learn this weekend that will help us when we come back here in 2017.”
