MIAMI- Ford Championship Weekend is in full swing, and to celebrate the XFINITY Series championship race on Saturday, Homestead-Miami Speedway announced Johnathan Hillstrand, star of the show “Deadliest Catch,” as the Grand Marshall for the Ford EcoBoost 300.
Hillstrand, who was born and raised in Homer, Alaska, is a third generation fisherman and the captain of the F/V Time Bandit. Hillstrand has been on commercial fishing vessels since the age of three and began commercial fishing at the age of 17. Apart from fishing, Hillstrand is an entrepreneur and operates Time Bandit Fireworks, Time Bandit Entertainment, Time Bandit Productions, and The Time Bandit Gear Store.
“I’m really looking forward to kicking off the race with ‘Drivers, start your engines!’ in the NASCAR XFINITY Series Ford EcoBoost 300 championship race on Saturday,” said Hillstrand.
