SPEEDWAY, Ind: Building off their NASCAR Xfinity Series debut together last weekend at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway, NASCAR Cup Series rookie Josh Berry will drive the No. 15 AM Racing Ford Mustang in Saturday afternoon’s Pennzoil 250 presented by Advance Auto Parts at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Together, the Statesville, N.C.-based team and driver will tackle the 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway, eyeing the team’s second top-10 finish in the last three Xfinity Series races.
Last weekend at Pocono, Berry showcased speed in the team’s No. 15 Viva Tequila Seltzer Ford Mustang, practicing inside the top-15 and delivering the team’s best qualifying effort of the season in 14th.
Unfortunately, the team was plagued with a series of flat tires early in the race, which hindered the team’s track position and ability to climb back through the field. Still, many positives were gained by exiting the “Tricky Triangle,” which the team looks forward to capitalizing on in the 20th Xfinity Series race of the season.
“I’m really excited to get to Indianapolis and experience the oval for the first time,” said Berry. “I feel like we showed a lot of potential at Pocono and can apply things we learned there to Indianapolis to have a solid day and finish.”
The Henderson, Tenn. native eyes his 97th career Xfinity start filled with five wins, 28 top-five and 52 top-10 finishes.
Team partner Klutch Vodka will support Berry in his Xfinity Series debut at Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval for their third primary partnership role with the family-owned team this season.
“We are happy to continue to support AM Racing and be paired with Josh Berry behind the wheel of the No. 15 Klutch Vodka Ford Mustang at Indianapolis Motor Speedway,” offered Klutch Vodka CEO Anthony S. Quattrochi and his Co-Founder, fiancé Brandy Wong.
“His experience and talent, which he has showcased in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, will continue to be a great asset to the AM Racing team this weekend. Indianapolis is such an iconic race facility and will undoubtedly introduce the Klutch Vodka brand to new race fans.”
Last July, AM Racing earned a 10th-place finish after starting 23rd with Brett Moffitt on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course.
