History was made on Saturday as Andres Perez (No. 2 Max Siegel Inc. Chevrolet) became the first foreign-born champion in the 72-season history of the ARCA Menards Series.
The two-time ARCA Menards East champion from Johnston, Iowa, led five of 98 over-scheduled laps and muscled away from the field on the final lap of an overtime shootout to score his second Xfinity career victory and transfer into the Playoff's Round of 8.
Allmendinger had left-front damage and came to pit road several times during the yellow flag. The team restarted in 23rd for overtime and went on to finish in 11th.
