RHODES 34th AT ATLANTA

HAMPTON, Ga. – Harrison Rhodes finished 34th in the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller No. 0 Chevrolet in Saturday’s Hisense 250 Xfinity Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The race marked Rhodes’ seasonal debut after he failed to make the starting field for the season opener at Daytona International Speedway. Rhodes was an innocent victim of a crash in qualifying at Daytona.

“It was good to get some laps in,” Rhodes said. “Obviously, it wasn’t the kind of finish we’re looking for, but I learned a lot working with the team guys, and it gives us a building point for the races ahead.”

The finish boosted Rhodes to 30th in Xfinity points. He’ll shoot for more gains in the March 7 race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the next venue on the schedule.

Sprint Cup driver Kevin Harvick won the 250, leading 101 of the 163 laps. Ty Dillon and Chris Buescher are tied atop the Xfinity point standings.
