Benny Gordon – Bristol Preview

(Mooresville, NC – August 18, 2015)  After earning a career high top-5 finish at Daytona International Speedway during the July 4th race, Benny Gordon will return to the track to compete in the Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway with Performance Energy Group.

Driver of the No. 66 SRWR/VSI Toyota Camry, Benny Gordon said, “I’m extremely excited to get back behind the wheel again. We took some time away from the track to come back to the shop and build a brand new car for Bristol. Being that we’re a smaller and new team in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, we wanted to give ourselves enough time to properly prepare for this race so that we would be able to compete with the top cars.”

Gordon holds two wins at the ‘Last Great Colosseum’ in 2007 and 2010 in the CARS X-1R Pro Cup Series, formally known as the USAR Hooter’s Pro Cup Series. This series held some of the top drivers in the NASCAR ranks during the time Gordon gained his success, such as Joey Logano, Chase Elliot, Matt Kenseth, Regan Smith and more.

Gordon also said, “We have a lot of support coming on board for this race. We have Complete Fluid Control out of Pennsylvania and Metro GreenScape from Charlotte, NC joining us on the No. 66. We also formed a partnership with B.R.A.K.E.S., which is a teen driver’s training for safe driving and accident prevention. I’m looking forward to giving our partners as much exposure as possible.”

The Food City 300’s one-day show will kick off Friday, August 21 with practice starting at 9am ET. Bass Pro Shops Qualifying will take place at 3:45pm and the race will goes underway at 7:30pm ET. Coverage of the The Food City 300, practice and qualifying will be covered on NBC Sports Network and PRN Radio.
