Jeffrey Earnhardt will race this weekend at the track where his famous grandfather, seven-time Sprint Cup champion Dale Earnhardt, made his Cup debut. Dale Earnhardt raced for the first time in what would become the Sprint Cup Series at Charlotte Motor Speedway May 25, 1975. He finished 22nd in a Dodge.

Memorial Day weekend and racing. The pair goes hand-in-hand. The unofficial start of summer has long been known as the most historic racing weekend of the year. For the open wheel types it’s Indianapolis and the state of Indiana, while for the full-fendered stock car crowd it's the Charlotte area in North Carolina.

Just in time for one of the spotlighted races of the Nationwide Series season, Landon Cassill is red hot. Cassill will carry a four-race streak of top-13 finishes into Saturday’s History 300 Nationwide race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Fresh off his first win in the Sprint All-Star Race Saturday night, McMurray will look to return to victory lane at CMS in the NSCS’ longest race on the schedule. OSCAAR sophomore Kevin Cornelius closed out a mentally trying first week of competition, with an 8th place finish in the 3rd annual Lucie Aylwin Memorial.
