Last weekend, Jason Hathaway got his 2012 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series season off to a solid start with a solid sixth place finish in the Vortex Brake Pads 200 at Canadian Motorsport Park (CTMP).

Coming off of his win the Sprint All-Star race, Jimmie Johnson qualified for the Coca-Cola 600 in the third position.

This week's picks will be short and sweet as I had a rather poor showing in last week's NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race, have not been able to watch much of this week's NASCAR Sprint Cup Practice sessions, and am starting a long weekend in Philadelphia this afternoon and have limited access to stats.

The panel of over 50 people named the 2013 class to be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Once again there are only five inductees, something I’ve railed about before. The Hall of Fame, in my opinion needs to have more people inducted each year.

With the first race of 12 in the books for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, the season is off and running. Jeff Lapcevich was one of the drivers who ran the Vortex Brake Pads 200 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and was able to come home with an eighth place finish after pit road problems.
