Talladega Superspeedway announced today three of the 16 Challengers for the 2014 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup – Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle and Aric Almirola – will participate in the track’s Pre-race Fan Question & Answer session at the start-finish line Sunday morning, October 19, prior to the start of the GEICO 500.

Team Penske announced today that it has signed multiple-race winner and 2014 NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup contender, Joey Logano, to a contract extension.

For the last several weeks I have watched a great champion and a great man be dragged through the mud by reporters, a sheriff and a DA. I did what others thought I should do and I sat on my hands. His case has now been sent to a Grand Jury. It’s time to stop sitting on my hands.

The Ontario County Grand Jury met this week and determined that no charges will be brought against Tony Stewart regarding the death of Kevin Ward Jr. Ward lost his life when he was struck by Stewart’s car during a sprint car race at Canadaigua Motorsports Park on August 9.

“There are no winners in tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the Kevin Ward Jr. family and Tony Stewart as they all cope with this tragic incident at Canandaigua Motorsports Park. This has been a difficult time for everyone involved and we have respected the local authorities responsible for reviewing this case.”

This will mark Annett's second Cup Series start at the Delaware racetrack. In NASCAR Nationwide Series competition, Annett finished inside the top half of the field in all 10 of his Dover starts, which included a third-place finish in the fall 2012 event. He averaged a 13.5-place finish during that span.

"Our FedEx team can certainly advance to the next segment, but now we need a little help on Sunday. It’s obviously disappointing to have a mechanical issue take us out of a good finish at New Hampshire, but it’s important to put that in the past and focus on what we can control this weekend at Dover.

Monster Mile...Justin Allgaier will make his second NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start in the No. 51 BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevy at Dover International Speedway on Sunday. Allgaier's first NSCS start at Dover was earlier this season in the AccuDoc Solutions Chevy, and he finished 26th.

While Martin Truex Jr. might not be overjoyed with finishes of 14th and 12th in the last two Sprint Cup Series races, eight or half of the 16-driver Chase field would welcome the 62 points that the Furniture Row Racing driver accrued in Chicago and New Hampshire.

FIRST CHASE CUTOFF CLOSING IN: The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Dover International Speedway this weekend will mark the last race before the first of three cutoffs in the Chase for the Sprint Cup Series championship -- new to the series this year. Camry Chase drivers Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth are all looking to advance to the 'Contender Round' of the Chase with solid finishes this weekend at Dover.
