NASCAR Cup Series

While Martin Truex Jr. might not be overjoyed with finishes of 14th and 12th in the last two Sprint Cup Series races, eight or half of the 16-driver Chase field would welcome the 62 points that the Furniture Row Racing driver accrued in Chicago and New Hampshire.

FIRST CHASE CUTOFF CLOSING IN: The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Dover International Speedway this weekend will mark the last race before the first of three cutoffs in the Chase for the Sprint Cup Series championship -- new to the series this year. Camry Chase drivers Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth are all looking to advance to the 'Contender Round' of the Chase with solid finishes this weekend at Dover.

“We’ve been good at Dover. I think we finished fourth last time, even had a shot at the win but a caution kind of jumbled things up. But I’ve always run decent there even back in the Nationwide days. I don’t have a win in the Cup Series but we’ve come close. It’s definitely a track that a lot can happen and after last weekend I’m sure it will.”

Dakoda Armstrong and the No. 43 WinField team are hoping to pick up where they left off at Dover (Del.) International Speedway. Armstrong just missed earning a Top-15 finish in the June event at the trackand is hoping to pick up right where he left off. The last time the team visited the track, the No. 43 WinField Ford improved throughout the weekend, picking up speed during the second half of the race and earning 16-place finish.

Biffle qualified 19th and steadily advanced though the field with air pressure and track bar adjustments. The 400-lap race saw only four cautions and the longer the run, the better Biffle’s Ford was. Biffle earned a ninth-place finish.

Fans of NASCAR racing know that they can listen in on the drivers and teams communicating during the racing action via scanners that pick up the radio transmissions between driver and crew. What many people don’t realize is that the practice has gone on for many years.

"When I hit the wall,” Keselowski said, “I thought the worst. But the Chase is long and grueling, and won’t be won in a day. You’ve got to keep your eyes on the prize. For me personally, I’m able to see the ‘Lite’ at the end of the tunnel.”

Twisted Tea will bring primary sponsorship to the No. 9 Richard Petty Motorsports (RPM) Ford this weekend at the Dover International Speedway. Marcos Ambrose will race the blue and yellow scheme of the hard iced tea company. Twisted Tea joined RPM at the end of 2013 and has been an associate sponsor on the No. 9 Ford throughout the season.

A sixth-place finish at New Hampshire Motor Speedway put Aric Almirola and No. 43 team back in the hunt of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. This weekend, the Nathan's Famous team will focus on what they can control and get the highest possible finish.

“Dover International Speedway is one of my all-time favorite tracks and a lot of it comes down to the fact that it is a track you can be aggressive at with just the way it’s designed - - the banking and everything,” Allmendinger said. “I have had an enjoyment factor out of all the tracks that you can be the most aggressive at and attack the race track.
