On Wednesday, it was officially announced that Bill Elliott will be one of the five inductees into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in January. Elliott joins Fred Lorenzen, Wendell Scott, Joe Weatherly and Rex White as part of the 2015 class.

Joe Weatherly had a short but extraordinary career. His exploits off the track were as legendary as his accomplishments on the track.

Fresh off his first win in the Sprint All-Star Race Saturday night, McMurray will look to return to victory lane at CMS in the NSCS’ longest race on the schedule. McMurray, a three time winner at CMS in NSCS competition (two Bank of America 500 and Sprint All-Star Race wins) has 23 starts in points-paying races.

NASCAR announced today the inductees who will comprise the 2015 class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The five-person group – the sixth in NASCAR Hall of Fame history – consists of Bill Elliott, Fred Lorenzen, Wendell Scott, Joe Weatherly and Rex White.

“I have had decent runs in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte (Motor Speedway) and I feel good about the race after the way we ran in the Sprint Showdown and then in the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race before we were knocked out running in the top 10,” Allmendinger said.

“The Coke 600 is the longest race of the season and gives us an opportunity to work on our car for a long period of time. Charlotte is one of the more temperature sensitive tracks that we race on. Starting in the day and going into evening is a huge factor and why this race is so challenging.

First Sprint Cup Start at Charlotte...Justin Allgaier will be making his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start at Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS) this weekend in the No. 51 Hendrickcars.com Chevrolet. This weekend marks Allgaier's sixth NSCS start on a 1.5-mile track, his fourth this season. He has 11 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) starts at CMS with six top-10 finishes.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rookie Michael Annett will face his most daunting challenge to date this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway, competing in the 600-mile race - NASCAR's Memorial Day weekend tradition - on the 1.5-mile track.

In Sunday’s NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race at Iowa Speedway, Sam Hornish Jr. earned his first win behind the wheel of a Camry -- leading a race-high 167 laps (of 250). He started second and stayed within the top-three consistently throughout the race at the 0.875-mile oval.
