NASCAR Cup Series

Juan Pablo Montoya made his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start at Homestead-Miami Speedway (HMS) on Nov. 19, 2006. Since his debut in the NSCS, the Colombian-born driver has accumulated nine pole awards, two wins, 24 top-five and 59 top-10 finishes in 252 career starts. Montoya was recognized as the Rookie of the Year in 2007 and made the Chase for the Sprint Cup in 2009 where he finished eighth in the point standings.

Johnson started on the pole and finished third in the AdvoCare 500, well ahead of Matt Kenseth, who struggled and finished 23rd. Johnson has a 28-point lead heading into Homestead, and needs only a finish of 23rd or better to clinch the Cup.

This is it. The final showdown. Matt Kenseth and Jimmie Johnson have gone toe-to-toe all throughout the chase, and it all gets settled on Sunday.

58-year-old Ken Schrader will end his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) driving the No. 32 this weekend at Homestead Miami Speedway (HMS). Schrader began his career racing at Nashville Speedway in 1984 where he qualified 28th and concluded the race in 19th. Schrader most likely expected racing to stay a hobby after that event, I doubt he though it become an entire life for him until 2013.

The two-time Nationwide champion has three career starts in the Nationwide Series at HMS posting two top-five and three top-10 finishes.

Marcos Ambrose and the No. 9 DEWALT Ford team have one more opportunity to score a win in 2013 this weekend at the Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway. The team finished well in the race last season and is poised to contend for the win in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season finale.

Aric Almirola heads to one of his best tracks this weekend for the Sprint Cup Series season finale. He hopes to drive the No. 43 Smithfield Ford to Victory Lane in the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway and end the season on a high note in his home state.

Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 Cargill Ford Mustang in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and No. 21 Motorcraft Ford Fusion in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, announced today that he has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
