Toyota driver Denny Hamlin won Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The win marks the 14th of the 2013 season for Toyota -- a single-season high in the NSCS since joining the series in 2007.

Jimmie Johnson took another step closer to stock car racing history on Sunday, claiming his sixth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series championship at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway.

BRAD KESELOWSKI – No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion – “We definitely had the car on the short runs, but just weren’t close on the long runs. I guess that was kind of the trade off. We had a lot long runs here at Homestead, which is normally the case. If we could have got the long run speed to go with the short run speed we would have killed them tonight, but we just didn’t have that.”

SIX-PACK: Jimmie Johnson, driver of the No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet SS for Hendrick Motorsports, extended his lead among active drivers and inched closer to catching Hall of Famers Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt Sr. after earning his sixth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series title with a ninth-place finish at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday. Petty and Earnhardt have seven titles apiece, followed by Johnson with six. Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jeff Gordon ranks fourth all-time with four.

In the battle for the championship, give round one to Matt Kenseth as he scored his third pole of the season on Friday afternoon at Ford EcoBoost 400. The 41-year-old lapped the Homestead-Miami Speedway track in 30.394 seconds to take the top spot.

Kurt Busch, driver of the No. 78 Furniture Row/Denver Mattress Chevrolet SS, scored his 9th top five starting position of the year in qualifying second for Sunday’s Ford EcoBoost 400, the final round of the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season. This is Busch’s eighth second place start and his ninth front row starting position of the season.
