Roger Penske has won just about everything imaginable in his racing career, but the one trophy that has eluded him to this point is the NASCAR Nationwide Series owner’s championship. With five races remaining the 22 team, led by crew chief Jeremy Bullins, holds a 34-point lead over the 54 car owned by Joe Gibbs Racing. Led by drivers Brad Keselowski, Joey Logano, AJ Allmendinger and Ryan Blaney, the No. 22 Ford Mustang has won six of the last nine NNS races going into this weekend’s Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway.

Justin Allgaier in the No. 51 at Kansas Speedway

Justin Allgaier will make his second NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start on Sunday, October 6 in the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway. Allgaier will drive the No. 51 BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevrolet SS for Phoenix Racing, for the second time this season.

KANSAS GOVERNOR SAM BROWNBACK NAMED GRAND MARSHAL FOR HOLLYWOOD CASINO 400

Kansas Governor Sam Brownback, the state’s 46th governor, has been named Grand Marshal for the Hollywood Casino 400 on Oct. 6, the fourth race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

LARSON TO MAKE HIS NASCAR SPRINT CUP SERIES DEBUT AT CHARLOTTE

Earnhardt Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (EGR) announces today that young driving sensation, Kyle Larson, will make his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) debut for Team Target in the Phoenix Racing No. 51 Target Chevrolet SS at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Oct. 12. In addition, he will run the NSCS race in Martinsville in the No. 51 Target Chevrolet SS on Oct. 27. In August, EGR announced that Larson would take over the reins of the No. 42 Target Chevy SS beginning in 2014.
