NASCAR Cup Series

The Monster Mile is up next this season, and if Sunday's race is anything like the previous twelve races this season, we're in for a show. Sunday's FedEx 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks also marks the midway point of the regular season for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and just one year ago, nine of the top-10 drivers in the points standings leaving this June race at The Monster Mile ended up in the field of twelve in the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

While Marcos Ambrose, driver of the No. 9 DEWALT Racing Ford for Richard Petty Motorsports, is not only hoping for a victory at the Monster Mile, but he is also racing for a miracle to help children who are ill and being treated at Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.

Denny Hamlin appears to be on a mission since returning to the track from his back injury. And today his mission was accomplished when he scored his third pole of the season for the 44th running of the FedEx 400 benefiting Autism Speaks.

After a strange and controversial night at Charlotte, NASCAR's best get ready to take on Dover. With a nickname like "The Monster Mile" and people referring to this place as "Bristol on Steroids," you don't have to know much about NASCAR to know that this is one tough track.

Despite an early draw in the qualifying order for the FedEx 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Dover International Speedway, Ryan Newman posted a strong speed of 157.604 mph in 22.826 seconds behind the wheel of his No. 39 Haas Automation Chevrolet SS to earn a fifth place starting position for Sunday’s race.

Brad Keselows, driver of the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion met with media members after his qualifying effort Friday at Dover International Speedway.

CASEY MEARS, No. 13 GEICO Ford Fusion – “I don’t feel very good about that. I was hoping to run a 70 or 80 but it was really slick out there and we slid around a lot more. We lost a tenth from where we were in practice and we were hoping to pick up a tenth from practice so it just depends on how everybody else falls now.”
