NASCAR Cup Series

In his first on-camera interview since the controversial ending to the March 24 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Fontana, Calif., driver Joey Logano appeared on the 6 p.m. ET edition of ESPN SportsCenter in an exclusive interview with ESPN lead NASCAR reporter Marty Smith. While Martinsville may be one of Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s best tracks now, it didn't start out that way. In his first trip to Martinsville as a rookie, he finished 26th and 36th on the paper clip short track.

Race with Insulin: The No.1 team will sport a different paint scheme this weekend with a predominately orange Chevrolet SS with touches of blue in support of “Race with Insulin”. In addition to this special paint scheme on McMurray`s car, teammate Juan Pablo Montoya and his No.42 Target Chevrolet SS will sport blue rims to help with the launch of the Race with Insulin™ Unites campaign.

Biffle has 20 Sprint Cup Series starts at Martinsville. In those starts he has earned three top-10 finishes, including one last fall during the Chase. The team is returning this weekend with that same chassis.

After a strong showing in California and a weekend off for Easter, Roush Fenway Racing (RFR) turns its attention to the short paper-clip oval of Martinsville Speedway, where the team boasts four wins, and looks for its first at the .526-mile track since the fall of 2002.

Jeff Gordon, No. 24 Drive To End Hunger Chevrolet SS, has made seven (7) trips to Winner’s Circle at Martinsville Speedway (’96, ‘97, ’99, ’03 – TWICE & ’05 - TWICE)

In 17 starts at the 0.526-mile track, Edwards has one top-five and five top-10 finishes. His average start is 18.1, and his average finish is 16.1. Edwards has completed 97.9 percent (8351 of 8534) of laps in Cup competition attempted at Martinsville Speedway.

We are going to open with Ryan Newman, driver of the No. 39 Quicken Loans Chevrolet for Stewart‑Haas Racing. Newman has three top 10 finishes this season and currently sits 20th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series standings heading into this weekend's race at Martinsville. In 135 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts at Martinsville Speedway, Richard Childress Racing has earned four pole awards and posted seven victories with drivers Dale Earnhardt (five times), Ricky Rudd (1983) and Kevin Harvick (2011). RCR Chevrolet teams have earned 27 top-five and 53 top-10 finishes at Martinsville dating back to the team's first start there on April 10, 1972.

Denny Hamlin charged from 18th to second after the final restart with 11 laps remaining in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Auto Club Speedway and battled for the lead coming to the checkered flag, but contact sent the #11 FedEx Express Toyota spinning into the infield and hard into the inside retaining wall, relegating the team to a 25th-place finish in the event won by Kyle Busch.
