NASCAR Cup Series

This week, back in 1933, there was no NASCAR. Moonshiners, for sure, and probably a few in Saskatchewan. My dad was born there 80 years ago this week, and along with mom we got together recently with his six children, their spouses, seven grandchildren, and even one great-grandchild still a few months away from making his or her debut.

Camry driver Kyle Busch captured his second victory of the season in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday -- his 13th NASCAR win at the track.

In February of 2004, Roush Fenway accomplished one of the hardest feats in NASCAR, sweeping all three events at California Speedway. Mark Martin won in the truck series on Friday, followed by wins by Greg Biffle and Matt Kenseth in the Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series. Despite the degree of difficulty, RFR went on to accomplish the feat twice more in 2006 at Bristol and Homestead.
