Denny Hamlin captured the pole for Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Curtiss Shaver 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with a lap of 182.763 mph.

Jimmie Johnson will start in the sixth position in his quest for a fourth win in the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis on Sunday in his No. 48 Kobalt Tools Chevrolet. Johnson scored wins in the Brickyard 400 in 2006, 2008, and 2009.
