JAMIE MCMURRAY AND THE NO. 1 BASS PRO SHOPS/MERCURY TEAM

McMurray on Twitter: Catch the latest from the driver of the No. 1 Bass Pro Shops/Mercury Chevrolet by following McMurray’s personal Twitter account, @JamieMcMurray.

Watkins Glen Review: From the drop of the green flag, Jamie McMurray would keep the McDonald’s Chevrolet running strong, never falling more than two spots back from his 10th-place starting position. He radioed that the car needed a little more rear grip and the crew prepared to make adjustments on the first pit stop. Just two laps before the first scheduled stop, McMurray cut a left front tire sending him into the fence and ending the hopes of a strong finish for the McDonald’s team.

Previously at Michigan: McMurray qualified his No. 1 McDonald’s Chevrolet 19th and reported that the car was very loose early in the race. After making major adjustments on two competition cautions, McMurray was able to battle to finish 14th.

McMurray at Michigan: In his 19 starts at Michigan, McMurray boasts one top-five, four top-10 and 12 top-20 finishes. McMurray has completed 3,591 laps of a possible 3,738 laps, or 96.1 percent, and has led 15 laps. His best start was second in the spring of 2010, and his best finish was fourth in the summer of 2004. McMurray has an average start of 24.7 and an average finish of 19.2 at Michigan.

Green Monster: McMurray ranks first in the number of green flag passes in the last 15 races at Michigan, passing 1,333 cars under green flag conditions. This is 101 more passes than second-place driver, Kevin Harvick.

JUAN PABLO MONTOYA AND THE NO. 42 TARGET TEAM

Montoya on Twitter: Catch the latest from the driver of the No. 42 Target Chevrolet by following Montoya’s personal Twitter account, @jpmontoya.

Watkins Glen Review: The green flag dropped Sunday afternoon for the Finger Lakes 355 and Montoya dropped one position to second place. Over the course of the next 15 laps, the top-three would pull away from the field. When the first caution flag flew on lap 27, the Target Chevrolet came down pit road for fuel, tires and minor adjustments. Montoya won the race off pit road under the caution period, however just three laps later he reported that something had broken on the front of the car, forcing the team to the garage for lengthy repairs. The No. 42 would return to the race 25 laps later and finish out the day in the 33rd-position.

Previously at Michigan: Montoya rolled off 21st in his No. 42 Target Chevrolet and quickly moved up into the top-10. He led four laps and battled his way to finish eighth.

Montoya at Michigan: In 11 NSCS starts at Michigan, Montoya has earned three top-10 and five top-20 finishes. He has completed 2,064 laps of a possible 2,209 laps, or 93.4 percent, and has led four laps. Montoya has an average start of 17.7 and finish of 21.8 at Michigan. His best start was third in the summer 2009, and his best finish was sixth in the spring of 2009.

Return to Glory: Montoya made two Indy Car starts at Michigan, earning a second-place finish in 1999 and a win in 2000 where he led 39 laps on his way to victory.
