Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 99 Fastenal Ford Fusion, met with media members at Talladega Superspeedway after the first practice session Friday afternoon. Edwards talked about the weekend ahead and other topics.

"Well, it's kind of like an off weekend for the teams, really. There's not a whole lot of adjusting you have. It's whatever you show up with is pretty much what you are going to race with."

Matt Kenseth, driver of the No. 17 Best Buy Ford Fusion comes into Talladega with a superspeedway win earlier this year in the Daytona 500. Kenseth met with media members prior to the opening practice to discuss the weekend ahead.

Greg Biffle, the current NASCAR Sprint Cup points leader, met with media members outside the No. 16 hauler prior to the first practice session of the day at Talladega Superspeedway Friday afternoon. Biffle discussed the upcoming race, his strategy as points leader and more.

Through its Rockwell Tools brand, Positec Tool Corp., a global company that manufactures and markets power tools and lawn and garden equipment, will serve as primary sponsor of the No. 5 Chevrolet driven by Kasey Kahne for the May 12 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Darlington (S.C.) Raceway.

Roush Fenway Racing scored its second victory at Talladega on May 10, 1997 and in doing so set a record for the fastest NASCAR race.

Bayne is back in the saddle of the No. 21 Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford for the Wood Brothers this weekend. It marks the fourth Cup race of the season for the 21 car and the first since a 28th place finish at Texas.
