With a seventh place qualifying effort, four-time NASCAR Sprint Cup Serie (NSCS) champion Jeff Gordon, No. 24 Drive To End Hunger Chevrolet, was the fastest of the 17 Team Chevy drivers that qualified for the season-ending race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

WITH PRACTICE WASHED OUT TODAY, DOES IT HAVE ANY EFFECT ON YOUR PREPARATION FOR SUNDAY’S RACE? “It’s not a big drama. When we get on the track is when we get on the track. I’m confident we have a good Office Depot/Mobil 1 Chevrolet for this weekend, and Darian (Grubb, crew chief) feels the same way. It just makes me calm. And when we get on the track, we’ll be fine.”

BRAD KESELOWSKI (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger R/T) “Well I guess the first thing I can say is it is my goal and I think more so than in words, but in action, if you look at the role I have as an owner on the truck side, to become a man of stature in this sport, who can be part of a leadership role that I think it takes for this sport to be complete, where that’s from driver interface with the fans, media or sanctioning body."

DENNY HAMLIN, No. 11 FedEx Express Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing What is your outlook for Homestead this weekend? “Obviously, a lot more relaxed this time around. We don’t have a whole lot to lose. We’ve got some trophies to hopefully win. Busy weekend obviously."
