As the opening of the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season approaches with the Daytona 500 on Feb. 26, Atlanta Motor Speedway President and General Manager Ed Clark went on the record to give his annual thoughts about the upcoming season.

It looks like the Daytona Pre-Season Thunder event pushed teams to make decisions on 2012. If you remember, David Ragan, David Reutimann, Kurt Busch, and Clint Bowyer were dismissed or left their rides following the 2011 season.

The three-day Preseason Thunder testing sessions in preparation for the 54th annual Daytona 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Feb. 26 concluded on Saturday at Daytona International Speedway.
