Greg Biffle turned a lap of 30.88 (174.887 mph) around the 1.5-mile tri-oval of Kansas Speedway in Friday afternoon’s qualifying session to earn the pole for Sunday’s 400-mile Sprint Cup race at the venue.

TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOUR QUALIFYING RUN. "This is I think the best we have every qualified here so I am not going to act like I am frustrated about it. I would obviously like to be on the pole but I didn't think we would be this good coming out of practice."

BRAD KESELOWSKI (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger R/T) Qualified 12th "It wasn't a great lap for the Miller Lite Dodge. I hope we can get a top-15 starting spot out of it. I thought that we would have a little bit more to be honest. "

Greg Biffle, No. 16 3M Sherwin Williams Ford (Qualified 1st) "I think that will hold up. The track has a decent amount of grip and I was just a little off all day on our qualifying runs. I hadn't been real comfortable with the car yet but right there the car stuck really nice. You always wish you could do it again. It will be a good starting spot for us."

Opening Statement: "It took a lot of people to be able to sit in front of you guys today, and I want to include Bob Carter (group vice president and general manager, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A.), who is with Toyota, runs Toyota and he wanted Clint (Bowyer) to drive for us really badly and he helped us to get that done."

JEFF GORDON, NO. 24 DUPONT CHEVROLET, met with members of the media at Kansas Speedway and discussed how he feels about where he sits in the Chase coming into Kansas, his confidence level in this Chase, the tracks coming up in the remainder of the season and more.

Qualifying at Kansas took place under cool and cloudy conditions with wind gusts that reached up to 25 mph.

Carl Edwards enters Sunday's Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway tied for the Chase lead with Kevin Harvick. Edwards, who led in points earlier this season, met with media members prior to qualifying.

All three of Roush Fenway’s Sprint Cup victories at Kansas Speedway occurred during Chase races and were earned by drivers competing in the Chase at the time.
