In the final race before the 12-driver, 10-race Chase for the Sprint Cup championship begins, U.S. Army driver Ryan Newman pulled off another solid performance, finishing eighth in Saturday night's Wonderful Pistachios 400 at Richmond International Raceway.

Carl Edwards led 112 laps and came just short of victory in the final ‘regular season’ Sprint Cup race before the Chase cutoff point at Richmond International Raceway, finishing second to Kevin Harvick.

Carl is the 5th seed with 2,003 points based on his one win of the season.
