NASCAR Cup Series

After covering NASCAR for 10 years I have come to the realization that there are some drivers that you feel an almost instant connection with, despite your best efforts to remain impartial. For me, that driver is Trevor Bayne – my first NASCAR interview.

The 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season will be remembered for many years to come after Ford led the series in victories and won the drivers’ and manufacturers’ championships. Here’s a look at some of the memorable moments and highlights from the season.

Logano won the Ford EcoBoost 400 in Homestead-Miami and his first Cup Championship of his 10-year career. In addition, Team Penske secured the Owner’s Championship and Ford Motor Company claimed the Manufacturers’ Championship title. The drivers’ championship is Ford’s ninth overall and sixth in the modern era (1972-present).

Joey Logano began his quest for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Championship Sunday afternoon from the fifth position in the No. 22 Shell-Pennzoil Ford Fusion in the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Logano topped the speed charts in both of Saturday’s practice sessions, and carried the speed into the early laps of the race. Logano moved into the third position by lap 4, all while battling a tight handling Shell-Pennzoil Ford.
