Ready to Roval: The Series makes their first-ever visit to the 17-turn Roval at Charlotte Motor Speedway this Sunday, Sept. 30, for the first cut-off race in the 2018 Playoffs. In 26 Cup Series road course starts between Sonoma and Watkins Glen, Hamlin has collected one win, six top-five and 11 top-10 finishes, notching four of those top-five finishes in his last six starts over the last three seasons. At the traditional Charlotte Motor Speedway oval, Hamlin has made 26 starts and earned nine top-five finishes, including five in his last six starts at the 1.5-mile speedway.

The Grunt Style No. 76 Camaro will carry the name Liz Alarik on its passenger door at the Drive for the Cure 200 as the NASCAR Xfinity Series makes history as the first NASCAR race at Charlotte Motor Speedway’s road course. Elizabeth Alarik is a breast cancer survivor and wife of Grunt Style CEO, Daniel Alarik.

Chase Elliott on racing to advance in the playoffs at Charlotte: “Yeah, it’s not the ideal situation, for sure. I think that survival will be key there and hoping that you can just not crash by yourself. I mean, heck, I spun out a couple of times by myself and a lot of guys have gone off track not even racing anybody. Just lining up and getting in line and making laps and trying to be solid. I don’t know, we will see where we stack up pace-wise when we get there and then we can adjust how we want to approach the race.”

With just eight races left in the 2018 season, the NASCAR circuit makes a stop just down the road at Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend. However, it’s not the normal fall trip to the 1.5-mile track that drivers and teams are preparing for. This weekend, the 2.28-mile ROVAL makes its debut, bringing plenty of unknowns and excitement for both the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) and NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS). RFR has a combined nine road course wins in the two series, looking to conquer the one in its own backyard this weekend.

The menacing adjectives were flowing last weekend at Richmond Raceway when playoff drivers were asked about this Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at the Roval – the new road course at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

THE ROVAL-UTION IS NOW: The Bank of America Roval 400, will be the first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series event on the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL course. The brand-new course features 17 turns along the 2.28-mile (3.669-kilometer) circuit on which teams will compete for 109 laps Sunday afternoon. This new course is a merger of Charlotte’s oval track, as well as the added road course elements which include two chicanes, and a winding section throughout the track’s infield.
