Another Tuesday has come and gone. Another set of penalties have been dealt out by NASCAR. Another crew member has been suspended for the next few races. Another fine has been handed to the crew chief. Another points penalty has been handed out. Another encumbered, I mean L1, penalty (yes, because it's so different from "encumbered") was bestowed upon a driver. Another tainted finish that's allowed to remain in the record. We've repeated this process too many times to count, yet teams continue breaking the rules. In the words of Mötley Crüe, "It's the same old, same old situation."

Hamlin looks to revisit All-Star victory lane since his last trip there in 2015. In 11 All-Star starts, he has collected eight top-10 finishes, including a 10th-place finish in last year's event following a late-race wreck that forced him to retire with only two laps remaining.

The first time Ford won the All-Star Race was in 1986 when Bill Elliott drove his Thunderbird to Victory Lane, but that race is remembered for another trivial fact as well.  That marked the only time the event has been run at a track other than Charlotte Motor Speedway as its sister track, Atlanta Motor Speedway played host.

“With the new All-Star package, we are all unsure of just how the cars will react. Monster Energy always does a great job promoting the event and puts on a great pre-race show for the fans. Qualifying is unique. Last year was my first time to experience it, so I’m more confident with that going into this weekend. There are no points online just the million dollars so we are going for it.”

Boogity, boggity, boggity. It was Saturday night racing at Kansas, boys. Yes sir, it was the Might As Well Watch Paint Dry 400. Kansas, where excitement goes to die. Kevin Harvick started at the pole and led through to the competition caution. Ryan Blaney led at the re-start and continued to do so right to the end of the opening segment.

After a flurry of late-race cautions, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. drove his SunnyD Ford to an 11th-place finish in Saturday night’s Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) race at Kansas Speedway.

NASCAR Champion Matt Kenseth made his return to Roush Fenway Racing at Kansas Speedway – the site of his last win with the organization in 2012. However, his debut in the famed No. 6 car was spoiled after his Wyndham Rewards Ford was collected in a multi-car accident late in the race with the team forced to settle for a 36th-place finish.

Brad Keselowski started fifth in the KC Masterpiece 400 Saturday night at Kansas Speedway. Keselowski stayed in the tire tracks of the leaders throughout Stage 1, finishing the 82-lap segment in third position. The driver of the Alliance Truck Parts Ford Fusion said that the track started to tighten up by the end of the run. He pitted on lap 84 during the stage caution for four tires and restarted third when the race went green on lap 88.

Martin Truex Jr. nearly pulled off an incredible comeback but fell short of scoring his third-straight victory at Kansas Speedway.
