The Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and XFINITY Series head to Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend as the Cup Series begins its Round of 12 in the Playoffs. The XFINITY Series will close out its opening round of the Playoffs and cut the field from 12 to 8 contenders.

Charlotte Motor Speedway has added another revolutionary “first” to its illustrious history. During this weekend’s Bank of America 500, fans will notice a new frontstretch chicane developed with the installation of a Sports Fields Inc. synthetic turf. The new chicane and turf are located at the exit of Turn 4 and are part of a new layout for the speedway’s 2018 Roval course. The innovative Roval will feature an 18-turn, 2.4-mile layout for the Bank of America 500 on Sept. 28-30, 2018 – the first road course race in the 14-year history of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs.

The NASCAR Foundation announced on Thursday the four finalists for its seventh annual Betty Jane France Humanitarian Award Presented by Nationwide, which honors NASCAR fans who are also accomplished volunteers working for children’s causes in their communities throughout the United States.

Leavine Family Racing (LFR) will once again be powered by Procore Technologies for the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Building on one of the longest and strongest partnerships in sports, Team Penske and Snap-on Incorporated today announced the renewal of their partnership with a new five-year agreement.  The multi-year agreement extends Team Penske’s longest-running partnership, as the organization and Snap-on are celebrating their 36th season together in 2017.

Award-winning country music singer, songwriter, guitarist and entertainer Brad Paisley will serve as Grand Marshal for Sunday’s Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, joining a diverse list of dignitaries set to take the stage during the action-packed race weekend.

When one of the legends in the sport leaves us, we remember. If a man is known simply by the company he keeps, Robert Yates did very well. As a team owner, he was the boss to such NASCAR luminaries as Davey Allison, Larry McReynolds, Ernie Irvan, Dale Jarrett, and Ricky Rudd.

In 160 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Richard Childress Racing teams have earned eight points-paying victories (four wins with Dale Earnhardt, one with Jeff Burton,  two with Kevin Harvick and one with Austin Dillon) and four All-Star race victories (three with Earnhardt and one with Harvick), giving RCR 12 total Cup Series checkered flags at the Concord, N.C.-based track.

Almirola has 10 Monster Energy Series starts at Charlotte Motor Speedway where he scored a pole in 2012, one Top-10 and three Top-15 finishes. In his eight XFINITY and two Camping World Truck Series starts, he tallied one Top-Five, a fourth in the XFINITY race in 2007, and five Top-10 finishes.

Following the first cutoff race in the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, Chevrolet has four drivers still in contention to take home this year’s championship title. Kyle Larson, Jimmie Johnson, Chase Elliott and Jamie McMurray will reset this weekend and begin their quest to advance from the Round of 12 to the Round of 8 taking on the challenges of Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend, followed by Talladega Superspeedway and Kansas Speedway.
