SETTING THE STAGE: In this year’s first 13 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) events, Toyota drivers have combined to win 14 stages and earn valuable bonus points for the playoffs, which begin at Chicagoland Speedway in September. MENCS points leader and Camry driver Martin Truex Jr. leads the series with eight stage wins and, when combined with his two victories (Las Vegas and Kansas) this season, also leads the competition with 18 bonus points. Other Cup Camry drivers with stage wins and bonus points in 2017 include Kyle Busch (three), Denny Hamlin (two) and Matt Kenseth (one).

“Pocono is a good track for us. I like both Pocono and Michigan, so we have some solid tracks coming up for the No. 88 gang. We were in the simulator this week working on Pocono. We’ve been working really, really hard the last three weeks. It’s been going great – the cars have gotten better in practice and we’re seeing some good improvements, so we’re going to keep grinding. We’re going in the right direction.”

Pocono Raceway, site of this weekend’s Pocono 400, is one of the more unique tracks on the NASCAR circuit. Eddie Wood, co-owner of the No. 21 Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Fusion driven by Ryan Blaney, likes the challenges it presents.

Roush Fenway Racing returns to Long Pond, Penn. for the first time in 2017 as the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) heads to the ever-challenging Pocono Raceway, a track that has seen a Roush Fenway Ford visit victory lane on four separate occasions.

Bayne makes his fifth career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) start at Pocono Raceway on Sunday afternoon. Bayne recorded a best finish of 13th in the June 2016 MENCS event.

Richard Childress Racing at Pocono Raceway ... In 151 starts at Pocono Raceway, RCR team owner Richard Childress has two wins, both with Dale Earnhardt, who won on July 19, 1987 and July 18, 1993. Additionally, RCR has earned one pole award, 16 top-five and 54 top-10 finishes with 608 laps led at the uniquely-shaped three-turn track. Childress, a former driver in NASCAR's top division, contributed two of those top-10 finishes under the RCR banner.
