Fuel Gamble Does Not Pay Dividends for Austin Dillon and the Dow Chevrolet Team in Daytona 500 "Overall, we had a good day and I'm looking forward to what's ahead in 2017."

Thanks to some quick work by the Wood Brothers crew and some heads-up driving by Ryan Blaney, the Motorcraft/Quick Lane team was able to do its part to deliver Ford Motor Company a 1-2 finish in NASCAR’s biggest race.

Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion, overcame three different multi-car incidents on Sunday afternoon in the 59th running of the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway to record a 10th-place finish. The result is Bayne’s fourth career top-10 at “The World Center of Racing.”

Recap: Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion team finished 27th in Sunday’s 59th running of the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway, a race where few cars finished the race unscathed. One of the early favorites to win the race based on his recent success on restrictor-plate tracks, Keselowski began the 200-lap race from the seventh position after finishing fourth in the first Can-Am Duel race on Thursday evening.

He took the lead with two laps remaining, but then his position started to go in the wrong direction. Truex got shuffled out of line, and on the final lap, his car ran out of fuel, leaving him with a 13th-place finish in the 2017 NASCAR Cup Series season opener.

The Daytona 500 ended just past the halfway point for Erik Jones when the car directly in front of his No. 77 5-hour ENERGY Toyota Camry spun out.

After a successful Speedweeks, Aric Almirola and the No. 43 Smithfield Ford team were prepared and ready for the 59th Annual Daytona 500. Starting from the 13th spot and an XFINITY race under his belt, Almirola raced in the Top 20 knowing the stages caused urgency right at the start. By the first caution on Lap 27, Almirola was in 24th and said the car was tight the exit of the corner. Crew Chief Drew Blickensderfer called for a four-tire pit stop and adjustments.

On Sunday, 16 cars retired from the Daytona 500 due to an accident. On Saturday, 23 cars retired from the XFINITY Series race due to an accident. On Friday night, 11 trucks retired from the Camping World Truck Series race due to an accident. And those numbers don't include the vehicles that also received damage as a result of these wrecks.

Kurt Busch’s return to Ford couldn’t have gone any better as he passed Kyle Larson on the final lap to win Sunday’s 59th Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway.

Kurt Busch now adds a Harley J Earl Trophy to his collection and résumé, alongside his 2004 championship, after winning the 59th running of the Daytona 500.
