NASCAR Cup Series

With the recent announcement of expanding to a second NASCAR Cup team in 2017, Furniture Row Racing announced today that it has hired Chris Gayle as the crew chief for the team’s new entry – the No. 77 5-hour ENERGY Toyota to be driven by Erik Jones.

A funny thing happened on the way to Richmond. Ryan Newman finished eighth at Darlington, got to within seven points of Jamie McMurray in the battle for the final Chase place, and then it hit the fan.

The Series heads to Richmond International Raceway for Saturday night’s regular season finale at the three-quarter-mile short track. Hamlin, a Chesterfield, Va., native, has won twice in 20 starts at RIR, including back-to-back fall races in 2009 and 2010.

Roush Fenway Racing is ready for battle this weekend as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) heads to Richmond International Raceway for the second time in 2016, a track that has seen a Roush Fenway Ford visit victory lane on 15 previous occasions across NASCAR’s three major touring series.

Michael Annett and his No. 46 Pilot Flying J Chevrolet team return to short track racing this Saturday night, visiting the Richmond International Raceway for a 400-mile contest under the lights.

"We do not plan to appeal the penalty issued today to the No. 31 team. Our rear toe settings were well within specs during pre-race inspection. The car made contact with the outside wall during the race and there was clear damage to the right rear fender and tire. NASCAR has told us that the LIS standard is clear and the car must pass post-race inspection even if damage has been sustained."

“The little time we had to celebrate the Southern 500 win was very special,” said Truex. “Even though it was short, those are the moments you cherish, nothing like celebrating a victory with your teammates after a race.

Five Camry Sprint Cup Series drivers are locked into the Chase heading into this weekend’s final regular season event at Richmond International Raceway with at least two wins a piece during the 2016 season.

Heading into this weekend's 300-mile event at the Richmond International Raceway, the No.32 CorvetteParts.Net team will head north to "The Old Dominion State" with Jeffrey Earnhardt behind the wheel for their second visit of 2016 at the 0.75-mile D-Shaped oval in Richmond, VA.
